A group show along with MCAD-Jerome Fellows Namir Fearce, Nik Nerburn, and Ger Xiong/Ntxawg Xyooj, engaging loss, memory, and the reclaiming of histories. How to Sleep, my central sculpture, is informed by my mother’s final months on hospice, entombed by pillows head to toe. Desperately seeking respite, she lamented she didn’t know how to sleep, how to be, how to exist. The accompanying loom woven work extends that idea.
